Andrew Cuomo, ahead of the primary Tuesday, only reinforces the good old boys club that is the Democrat Party will always supersede the ability to bring in young, fresh ideas.
This isn’t just about Cuomo. This is about how the party machine still protects its own — the familiar names, the insider class, the people with deep ties and donor networks. And it’s not just New York. It’s a pattern we see again and again.
Cuomo’s comeback is being entertained not because people forgot the scandals — but because the system never stopped favoring him. The same people who talk about progress and change are still making space for the old guard when it suits them.
It’s frustrating. Because every time the base starts to push for something new — younger leadership, real policy vision, less corporate influence — the default answer from the top seems to be: NOT TODAY.
And that’s the real problem.
It doesn’t mean a Jim Clyburn endorsement secures the win, but it absolutely shows a willingness to resist actual change.
The Democratic Party doesn’t lack young talent. It lacks the willingness to let that talent lead or to even incubate them.
You're absolutely correct. The system is glorified to suit the moment. To accept him back is hypocritical and lacks morals. Rather strange for a party of self deemed saints.
Bingo. So many young and great voices! I hope some stand out in 2027-2028. We need a 40-50 yr old president. No more 79 yr old, born before computers.
